Ranch Name
Cactus Rose Longhorns was started in 2005 in Edna, Texas along the Lavaca River. We have raised many nice animals, some nice show cattle and Hall of Famers, and a multi-bronze Horn Showcase winner. Not bad for a little ranch in South Texas. Nowdays, we just like to look at our cows and appreciate what we produced as many of our animals are third and fourth generation Cactus Rose. We have been known to go and purchase our animals back from new owners to bring an element back into the herd. We don't like selling our animals because we like them too much. A few years ago we had a first pre-retirement sale; we took it real hard. We are beginning a second phase of the retirement sale and offer some great animals at prices to move. Philosophically, Cactus Rose believes in the importance of protecting the breed's legacy, its place in Texas history, and adhering to the stated breed characteristics to insure the breed's survival into future generations.
